Photograph taken at Big Basin Redwoods State Park in California.
Big Basin Redwoods State Park, the first state park in California, features all three different types of redwoods in the world: the coast redwood, the giant redwood, and the rare dawn redwood, which is deciduous.
The light was shining perfectly through the leaves of the trees high above me so I thought that I would take a photo of it. The trees are so densely packed together here that at times it seems like it's at dusk when it's actually only noon.

It is definately a very calming shot. What the best aspect of the picture is that you have the sun near-center but it appears that the trees go beyond it. It is nice that you have the trunks of the trees ace picture and managed to get the branches moving across the photo; it adds a little movement. The bright sky is a nice contrast for the darker needles of the trees. Very nice.
